Chicago Fire’s 2-1 victory over New York City FC was the highlight for Fipster today, delivering a STAR performance with every key prediction except halftime nailed. The model was underconfident here but still got the outcome, exact score, BTTS, and over-under right — not bad at all.

Toronto FC’s 2-1 win against CF Montreal earned a solid TICK: outcome, BTTS, over-under, and halftime predictions were spot on. A bit off on the exact score but close enough to keep the model’s reputation intact.

Inter Miami’s 4-0 thrashing of DC United also scored a TICK. Outcome and over-under were correct, though BTTS missed the mark — no goals for DC United wasn’t in the forecast. Halftime prediction didn’t land either.

Atlanta United FC versus FC Cincinnati was where Fipster stumbled with a MISS grade. The model confidently predicted an Atlanta win but instead faced a 1-3 upset. Outcome and exact score were off despite getting BTTS and over-under right.

New England Revolution’s 0-3 loss to Seattle Sounders was another surprise that earned a MISS. Overconfidence perhaps? The model expected goals from both sides but got none from New England and three from Seattle instead.

Philadelphia Union’s narrow 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake brought home another TICK. Outcome and over-under predictions were right on target despite missing BTTS and halftime calls.

The New York Red Bulls’ 4-1 win against San Diego was a shocker for Fipster with a MISS grade. The model predicted a San Diego win with BTTS but got neither outcome nor exact score correct.

Charlotte’s 3-2 victory over FC Dallas earned a TICK: outcome, BTTS, and over-under predictions landed well even if the exact score wasn’t perfect.

Overall, it was a day of highs and lows for Fipster across nine MLS fixtures: one STAR shining bright in Chicago Fire’s perfect call; five respectable TICKS showing solid predictive power; and three MISSes reminding us that football keeps us humble. The model tended to nail outcomes and over-under bets more often than halftime or exact scores today — we’ll take those wins where we can get them.
