Gameweek in Review
Every round, we go back over what we called — the pick that came off, the one that missed, and the players who actually decided it.
UEFA Nations League · League C - 2
Slovakia were the clean read; the rest of League C - 2 mostly took the scenic route
Fipster found one proper result in Slovakia’s 2-1 win over Kazakhstan, but the round was otherwise ruled by flat scorelines, late swings and a few scorers the model never saw coming. The lesson was less about bravado than about where the pre-match clues were thin, and where they were simply ignored by events.

UEFA Nations League · League B - 2
Sweden, Switzerland and Bosnia made the loudest arguments while Fipster spent the round chasing the wrong end of the pitch
Three correct home calls were not enough to disguise a rough League B - 2. The model found Austria, Sweden and Slovenia, but it missed the bigger swings: Ireland’s three-goal win in Israel, Bosnia & Herzegovina’s four in Romania, and Switzerland’s tidy away job in Scotland.

UEFA Nations League · League A - 2
Spain and Italy did the heavy lifting while the model spent the rest of the round guessing wrong
Two clean calls came from Spain and Denmark, but the round was mostly decided by players Fipster had not named: Lamine Yamal, Mexx Meerdink, Michael Olise, Harry Kane and the rest. The broad read was too optimistic about home wins, and a few tight calls turned into rather less tidy evenings.

Eredivisie · Regular Season - 7
Guus Til and Anis Hadj-Moussa made the loudest arguments in a round Fipster mostly read well
One perfect call, four decent ones, and four that missed the mark left Eredivisie Round 7 looking sharper than the raw record suggests. The model found the right kind of away wins in places, but it also trusted a few familiar scorers who stayed quiet while new names did the damage.

UEFA Europa League · League Stage - 1
Bamidele Yusuf was the one clean call in a round that otherwise preferred its own ideas
Fipster found one proper hit in UEFA Europa League League Stage - 1, with Bamidele Yusuf scoring as forecast for Ferencvarosi TC. The rest was a harder lesson: Beşiktaş ran away from the narrow win we expected, Crystal Palace flattened Lech Poznan, and Juventus turned a routine home call into a five-goal stroll.

Premiership · Regular Season - 7
Joseph Westley was the one clean hit in a Premiership round that otherwise slipped away
Dundee’s 2-1 win over Motherwell was the only prediction Fipster nailed, and it did so for a simple reason: Joseph Westley scored as expected. The rest of the round went the other way, with late equaliser, wrong-scoreline and wrong-scorer problems piling up faster than the model could tidy them.

Serie A · Regular Season - 5
Juventus and Lazio gave the round its two cleanest reads; the rest did not oblige
Fipster landed two exact scorelines in Serie A’s Regular Season - 5, with Juventus–Atalanta and Venezia–Lazio both coming in as called. Elsewhere, the round was less obedient: AC Milan’s front line found goals nobody had named, AS Roma and Inter shared four, and a few narrow-win ideas were left looking rather optimistic.

Ligue 1 · Regular Season - 5
Lyon and Monaco were the tidy reads; Toulouse and Marseille did the damage
Fipster found three correct calls in Ligue 1’s fifth round, but the bigger story was how often the goals came from names it had not flagged. Lyon and Monaco justified the model’s home lean, while Toulouse, Nice and Paris Saint Germain all punished the away-win bias with late or awkwardly timed strikes.

UEFA Nations League · League B - 1
Sweden’s clean hit, Austria’s late flourish, and a round that punished overconfidence
Fipster found one perfect scoreline in Sweden v Romania, got two more calls over the line, and spent the rest of League B - 1 learning that a neat 2-1 can be a fragile thing. The round was decided less by broad patterns than by a few sharp individual turns: Mohamed Amdouni in Switzerland’s rout, Jan Oblak keeping Slovenia alive, and late Austrian goals that made the margin look kinder than it had any right to be.

UEFA Nations League · League A - 1
Haaland, Harry Kane and Luka Modrić made the noise; Fipster mostly heard the wrong tune
Two correct calls came through in a round that otherwise leaned hard against the model. Portugal and Norway landed, but the bigger story was how often the goals came from names Fipster had not backed: Erling Braut Haaland, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé and Luka Modrić all had their say.

UEFA Nations League · League C - 1
Finland’s seven, Luxembourg’s late theft, and a round that split the model in two
Montenegro gave Fipster its one clean hit, but the rest of League C - 1 was less polite. Finland ran riot in San Marino, Luxembourg nicked Bulgaria away from home, and several of the round’s biggest scorers were players the model had not put front and centre.

Premier League · Regular Season - 5
Brian Adjei Brobbey and the round that split cleanly down the middle
Fipster landed five calls and missed five, with Manchester City’s wild 5-3 over Sunderland providing the loudest correct read and Tottenham’s defeat to Aston Villa exposing the biggest overreach. The round also threw up a few uninvited names, from Alexander Isak to Jay Dasilva, which is usually how a tidy model learns to mind its manners.
