Gameweek in Review
Every round, we go back over what we called — the pick that came off, the one that missed, and the players who actually decided it.
Major League Soccer · Regular Season - 16
Austin and LAFC gave MLS Round 16 its clearest answers, while San Jose made a mess of the rest
Five correct calls is respectable enough, but this round was really about the model getting the right teams for the wrong reasons in places, then being properly mugged by San Jose and Houston. The cleanest hits came from Austin, Nashville, Sporting Kansas City, Colorado and LAFC; the ugliest miss was San Jose, where Orlando City SC’s scorers were all off the pre-match sheet.

Marcus Edwards was the one call that landed cleanly in a round of loose ends
Fipster found three correct scorelines in UEFA Nations League League C - 4, but the round was really defined by two misses that overtrusted familiar scorers and one tidy hit where Marcus Edwards did exactly what the model expected. The rest belonged to late goals, unexpected names and a few scorelines that were less obedient than advertised.

UEFA Nations League · League A - 4
Michael Olise and the late surge gave League A - 4 its clearest lesson
Four calls landed, two went badly astray, and the round ended up being decided less by broad team reads than by the players Fipster had either trusted or missed. Michael Olise was the sharpest example of that, while France’s late burst and Italy’s steadier read of Türkiye did most of the talking.

UEFA Nations League · League B - 4
Viktor Gyökeres was the one clean hit in a messy League B night
Sweden’s early strike in Romania was the round’s only proper model success, while several stronger-looking calls were undone by late goals, a missed penalty, and a few scorers the model never saw coming.

Rafael Navarro and Nikolas Tsakiris made Round 24 harder work than Fipster expected
Three STARs were enough to keep the week respectable, but the round’s real story was how often the model trusted familiar scorers and got ambushed by the names it had not priced in. Portland, San Diego and Chicago all found that out the awkward way.

Milan Iloski, Hany Mukhtar and a late surge gave MLS Round 27 its clearest answers
Fipster found one perfect result and seven more that were close enough to count, but the round was really about where the goals came from: Milan Iloski, Hany Mukhtar and a few uninvited names doing the damage. The model was strongest when it trusted established scorers in open games, and weakest when it leaned too hard on familiar attacking patterns that never quite arrived.

Czech Liga · Regular Season - 9
Václav Drchal and the late names Fipster missed most defined a rough Czech Liga - Regular Season - 9
Two correct calls were enough to stop the round from becoming a complete write-off, but the bigger story was how often the goals came from elsewhere. Tomáš Chorý and Roman Květ did their bit for the model, yet Václav Drchal, Michal Frydrych, Gigli Ndefe and Filip Šancl were the sort of scorers that make a tidy forecast look overconfident.

Primeira Liga · Regular Season - 7
Sorriso and the late equaliser made a mess of the tidy calls
Fipster found two correct scorelines in Primeira Liga’s seventh round, but the bigger story was how often the model trusted the wrong scorer list. André Clóvis and Georgios Koutsias delivered as flagged; elsewhere, late goals, an unexpected Porto win over Benfica, and Santa Clara’s blank afternoon did most of the damage.
