Fipster’s mixed bag in Serie A: two ticks and a handful of misses

Serie A’s latest round saw the model nail two predictions with decent confidence, but four fixtures slipped through the cracks. Goals were plentiful, but so were surprises, keeping us on our toes and the model slightly humbled.

Today’s Serie A action served up a feast of goals and a fair share of unpredictability, leaving our trusty Fipster model with a modest haul of two TICKs and four MISSes. Not quite the clean sweep we dream of, but hey, even the best get their wires crossed occasionally.

Atletico-MG versus Fluminense was one of the brighter spots. The model correctly called the outcome and nailed both BTTS and over-under predictions, though it overshot on the exact score and halftime call. Still, an appropriate confidence rating means it wasn’t wildly out of its depth here.

Palmeiras against Sao Paulo also earned a TICK. The model got the outcome spot-on and even predicted halftime correctly — a rare double win! BTTS was right too, though it missed on exact score and over-under. Confidence was well-placed this time around.

On the flip side, Botafogo’s draw with RB Bragantino caught the model off guard. It expected a home win but ended up with a stalemate. While BTTS was correct, other calls like outcome and over-under missed the mark.

Chapecoense-sc versus Internacional followed suit with another miss despite correct BTTS and over-under calls. The model’s confidence was perhaps a tad overenthusiastic here.

Coritiba’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Atletico Paranaense also eluded accurate prediction for outcome and halftime, though BTTS and over-under were spot on. Another case where excitement didn’t translate to prediction success.

Finally, Gremio’s loss to Vasco DA Gama was a tough nut for the model to crack — expecting a home rout but getting an away win instead. Confidence was high but results low here; even BTTS prediction failed to land.

All told, today’s batch reminds us that football loves to keep us humble — or at least keeps our models guessing. Two TICKs show promise; four MISSes keep things interesting. We’ll take that one with a wink.
