A Day of Near Misses and One Solid Call in Serie A
Serie A’s latest round gave our Fipster model a tough time, with just one tick on the board out of five fixtures. While the model nailed the outcome for Sao Paulo’s narrow win over Vasco DA Gama, it struggled elsewhere, especially on exact scores and BTTS predictions. Over-under calls were a rare bright spot, showing some consistency amid the chaos.
Today’s Serie A action was a bit of a rollercoaster for our trusty Fipster model. Out of five matches, only one earned a “tick” — Sao Paulo’s 1-0 victory over Vasco DA Gama. The model correctly predicted the outcome and BTTS status there, plus got the over-under right, though it missed the exact scoreline and halftime call. We’ll take that one.
The other four fixtures proved trickier. Bahia vs Flamengo ended 0-3, but the model had it flipped with a predicted 2-1 home win — not even close on outcome or BTTS, though it did guess over-under correctly. Fluminense’s 1-2 loss to Santos was another miss; despite an overconfident prediction of a 3-0 home win, the halftime call was spot-on at least.
Gremio vs Cruzeiro saw a 2-4 thriller that our model confidently misread as a 2-1 home win. It did get BTTS and over-under right but missed outcome and halftime again. Meanwhile, Remo and RB Bragantino drew 1-1; predicted as a 2-1 home win with an overconfident rating, it only nailed BTTS here.
Overall, today’s batch was heavy on misses (four) with just one tick and no stars to celebrate. The model showed some strength in calling over-under bets but struggled with outcomes and exact scores — especially when confidence was high. It seems our algorithm had its day off but managed to sneak in one decent call to keep spirits up.
