Mixed fortunes in Serie A as model nails one and fluffs another
With six fixtures on the slate, including a handful postponed, the Fipster model managed a respectable showing with one solid tick and one miss. The day’s highlight was Mirassol’s narrow win over Remo, where the model got the outcome right but not the exact score. Meanwhile, Internacional and Flamengo’s draw proved a tougher nut to crack.
Today’s Serie A action served up a mixed bag for our trusty prediction model. While several matches were postponed, leaving us twiddling our thumbs, two games went ahead with predictions in tow.
Mirassol versus Remo was the day’s shining star for the model. It correctly called Mirassol to edge out a 2-1 victory, though it overshot on the exact scoreline by predicting 3-1. The model also nailed both teams scoring and the over-under tally, showing it can still keep its wits about it when it counts.
On the flip side, Internacional and Flamengo conspired to frustrate our algorithm. The model confidently predicted a 2-1 win for Flamengo but instead got a 1-1 draw. It did get both teams scoring right — so at least it wasn’t completely off — but missed on outcome, exact score, halftime call, and over-under. Overconfident? Possibly.
The rest of the fixtures were postponed, so no points there but no penalty either. Overall, with one tick and one miss from two scored games, the model showed it’s far from perfect but still worth keeping an eye on.
