Fipster’s Serie A predictions: a day of near misses and one tidy tick
Four Serie A fixtures, four chances for Fipster to shine. The model managed just one tick amidst three misses, showing that even the best can have an off day in Italy’s top flight.
Today’s Serie A round served up a mixed bag for the Fipster prediction model. The standout moment was the Frosinone vs Venezia clash, where the model correctly called the outcome, earning a respectable tick despite missing on exact score and other finer details. It seems the model was a bit underconfident here, but we’ll take that one.
On the flip side, Bologna vs Sassuolo was a tough nut to crack. The model predicted a home win but got everything else wrong — outcome, exact score, BTTS, over/under, and halftime accuracy all missed the mark. Appropriate confidence didn’t save it this time.
Juventus hosting AC Milan ended 1-1, but Fipster had Juventus winning outright. While it did get the over/under call right (credit where it’s due), it missed on outcome and all other fronts. Another appropriate confidence rating here — confident enough to be wrong.
Parma vs Monza also finished in a draw at 1-1, but our model fancied an away win with high confidence — which turned out to be overconfident indeed. It did nail halftime correctness and over/under predictions though, so not a total loss.
Overall, it was a day of learning curves for Fipster in Serie A’s third round. One tick out of four isn’t headline material, but at least we avoided any stars today — no false alarms there! The model struggled most with exact scores and BTTS calls while showing some consistency on over/under predictions.
