Bundesliga day serves up a mixed bag for Fipster's predictions

With six Bundesliga fixtures on the docket, Fipster managed two solid TICKs but stumbled on four occasions. The model nailed the outcome in Hoffenheim vs Dortmund and Leverkusen vs Union Berlin, yet missed the mark elsewhere, including a surprise win for SV Elversberg over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Today's Bundesliga action was a rollercoaster for the Fipster model, which scored two TICKs out of six fixtures. Not bad, but there’s room for improvement – or as we like to call it, character building.

The model got the outcome right in Hoffenheim's narrow 2-3 loss to Borussia Dortmund, also correctly predicting both teams would score and that the total goals would be over the line. Halftime prediction? Not so much. Still, an "appropriate" confidence rating means it knew it was on shaky ground.

Leverkusen’s 4-0 demolition of Union Berlin also earned a TICK. The model called the winner and that there wouldn’t be goals at both ends (spot on), plus it predicted over the goal line. Halftime accuracy again eluded it, but no one’s perfect.

On the flip side, four matches slipped through the cracks. SV Elversberg’s shock 4-3 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach was a classic miss — outcome prediction completely off despite getting BTTS and over-under right.

Werder Bremen’s 3-1 win against RB Leipzig caught the model napping too, which confidently expected Leipzig to take it. The BTTS and over-under calls were correct though; at least it had some sense of hope.

Schalke and Bayern München played out a goalless draw that left the model red-faced — expecting Bayern to win with goals galore. Confidence was high here, so this one stings a bit more.

Finally, SC Freiburg edged past SC Paderborn 07 by a single goal, another miss for Fipster who had predicted a Paderborn win with goals at both ends. No halftime or BTTS luck either.

Overall, today’s batch showed Fipster can pick winners but struggles with exact scores and halftime calls — not to mention handling surprises like Elversberg’s fireworks display. The model record stands at 0 STAR · 2 TICK · 4 MISS — proof that even algorithms have off days.
