Fipster keeps its cool with three solid ticks despite one cheeky miss
Amed, Erzurumspor FK, and Fenerbahçe all delivered results that kept the model's predictions mostly on point, while Gençlerbirliği S.K. managed to throw a spanner in the works with an unexpected win over Galatasaray. Confidence was mostly well-placed, but the model’s overenthusiasm for that last fixture reminds us it’s not infallible.
Today’s Süper Lig action gave us a neat little puzzle for the Fipster model. Three fixtures earned a respectable tick each, showing the model’s knack for nailing outcomes even if exact scores proved a bit elusive. Amed’s 1-0 win over Konyaspor was spot on for the outcome and BTTS prediction, though the exact score and halftime call missed the mark — we’ll take that one.
Erzurumspor FK’s 2-0 victory against Eyüpspor was another tidy tick. The model correctly predicted the outcome, BTTS, over/under goals, and even halftime result — all while modestly underestimating its own confidence. That’s the kind of humility we like to see.
Fenerbahçe’s 3-0 win over Alanyaspor also earned a tick. The outcome and over/under predictions were right on target, as was halftime accuracy. However, BTTS was off since Alanyaspor kept their sheet clean — close but no cigar.
Then there was Gençlerbirliği S.K.’s surprise 1-0 win against Galatasaray — a complete miss across all prediction dimensions. The model had confidently forecasted a high-scoring affair in favour of Galatasaray but got left holding the bag instead. Even models have their off days.
Overall, with zero stars but three ticks out of four fixtures, today’s performance shows Fipster is reliably good at calling winners and goal expectations but still struggles with exact scores and occasional upsets. We’ll keep polishing our crystal ball.
