Serie A’s Fipster model mixed it up with three TICKs and four MISSes on the day
Seven fixtures, seven chances for the model to shine — and while it didn’t hit a STAR, it did land three TICKs. Some solid calls on outcomes and BTTS, but a few surprises kept things lively.
Today’s Serie A action served up a mixed bag for the Fipster prediction model. The headline? No STAR grades this time around, but three respectable TICKs to keep spirits afloat. The model called outcomes correctly in those TICK matches, showing it can still sniff out winners when it counts.
Take Atletico-MG versus Gremio: a 3-0 result with the model nailing the outcome, halftime prediction, and even BTTS (yes, both teams scoring was predicted correctly despite the clean sheet). It missed the exact score and over/under calls, but we’ll take that one.
Mirassol against Flamengo was another highlight. The model was underconfident but got the outcome spot-on along with BTTS and over/under predictions. Halftime accuracy slipped here, but five goals from Flamengo made for an entertaining watch.
Vasco DA Gama versus Santos also earned a TICK. The outcome was correct despite missing BTTS and halftime calls. Over/under landed as well — so not a bad day for underconfident predictions.
On the flip side, some fixtures threw curveballs. Chapecoense-sc and Bahia ended 3-3 when the model expected a lower scoring affair favoring Bahia — outcome missed but at least BTTS and over/under were right. Corinthians losing to Cruzeiro 1-2 was another miss across all prediction dimensions.
Sao Paulo’s draw with Coritiba confounded expectations too; the model was overconfident predicting a home win without BTTS, which didn’t materialize. And Vitoria’s narrow 1-0 win over Botafogo was another full miss — no correct calls there.
Overall, today’s batch saw the model excel at picking outcomes in some matches while struggling in others — especially exact scores and halftime results. With zero STARs but three TICKs out of seven fixtures, it’s fair to say the model had its day… just not every day.
