Guimaraes' loss to Arouca was another curveball the model didn't see coming.
Today’s Primeira Liga action served up some drama, with the standout result being Estrela and Sporting CP playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw. The model was spot on about both teams scoring and the match going over the predicted goal line, plus it got the halftime call right too — so we’ll take those bits as small victories amid the chaos.
Maritimo’s 1-0 win over Casa Pia earned a tick for the model, which correctly called the outcome and halftime scenario, even if it wasn’t quite precise on the exact score or other finer details. Not bad for an underconfident prediction — sometimes it pays to be cautious.
On the flip side, Guimaraes’ unexpected 0-1 defeat to Arouca caught the model off guard, resulting in a miss across all key prediction categories except halftime accuracy.
