A rollercoaster of results keeps Fipster on its toes in Premiership action
Two fixtures, two very different outcomes for the model: a solid call from St Johnstone vs Kilmarnock and a miss on Hibernian against Motherwell. Confidence was low where it mattered, and the day’s grade reflects a mixed bag of hits and near-misses.
St Johnstone’s 4-3 win over Kilmarnock was the highlight for our model, earning a TICK. The outcome prediction was spot on, as was the call for both teams to score and the over-under line. However, the exact scoreline eluded us, and halftime accuracy wasn’t quite there. Interestingly, the model played it safe with an underconfident rating — sometimes modesty pays off.
On the flip side, Hibernian’s 1-2 loss to Motherwell caught the model off guard, resulting in a MISS. The predicted home win didn’t materialize, nor did the exact score guess or halftime call. Yet at least it nailed that both teams would find the net and that the total goals would be over the threshold — small mercies. The confidence rating here was appropriate, so no complaints about overreach.
Overall, with zero STARs but one TICK and one MISS, today’s performance was a mixed bag. The model showed strength in predicting goal-scoring patterns but struggled with precise outcomes and halftime snapshots. Still, it’s early days in this Premiership campaign — we’ll take that one.
Model record: 0 STAR · 1 TICK · 1 MISS.
