Bundesliga day leaves Fipster scratching its head with a clean sweep of misses
Three Bundesliga fixtures, three misses for the Fipster model. From Leverkusen's surprise shutout to Schalke and Elversberg's goalless draw, and Paderborn's unexpected win, the model struggled to find its footing today.
Today’s Bundesliga action was a tough one for the Fipster prediction model, which failed to land a single correct call across all three fixtures. The biggest eyebrow-raiser was Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig — the model confidently expected a 2-3 scoreline, but instead got none of the outcome, exact score, BTTS, over/under, or halftime predictions right. Overconfident? Absolutely.
FC Schalke 04 and SV Elversberg played out a goalless draw that caught the model off guard as well. While it nailed the halftime prediction (credit where it’s due), it missed every other mark including outcome and exact score. The confidence rating was appropriate here, but that didn’t help much in the end.
SC Paderborn 07’s 3-1 win against 1899 Hoffenheim was another curveball. The model predicted a Hoffenheim win with a 1-2 scoreline but missed the outcome and exact score. On the bright side, it did correctly predict both teams to score and the over/under threshold — so there’s that small consolation.
All told, this was a day where Fipster’s crystal ball fogged up completely: zero stars, zero ticks, just three misses. The model’s confidence ratings ranged from appropriately cautious to downright overconfident — proving once again that football is wonderfully unpredictable. We’ll take this one on the chin and hope for better luck next time.
