France and Morocco Deliver, Colombia Stumps the Model
The Fipster model had a solid day with two TICKs and one MISS across three World Cup fixtures. It called the winners right in Canada vs Morocco and Paraguay vs France, but stumbled on Colombia's narrow win over Ghana. A mixed bag of precision and surprise.
Today's World Cup action kept our Fipster model on its toes. The biggest eyebrow-raiser was Colombia's 1-0 victory over Ghana, where the model confidently tipped a Ghana win but ended up missing the mark on outcome and halftime predictions. However, it did get the no both-teams-to-score call right and correctly anticipated a low-scoring game.
Meanwhile, Canada versus Morocco saw the model back Morocco to win — which it did — earning a TICK for outcome and over-under calls despite missing on exact score and BTTS. Not bad for a day when goal droughts were common.
France’s narrow 1-0 triumph over Paraguay was another TICK in the model’s column. It nailed the outcome and BTTS predictions but slipped on over-under and exact score details. Halftime guesses proved tricky across all matches today.
Overall, two TICKs against one MISS isn’t too shabby for a day of tight results and few goals. The model showed appropriate confidence levels throughout, proving it can handle surprises — just not all of them.
