Today’s Champions League qualifiers served up a feast of unpredictability, with the Fipster model scoring one star, two ticks, and five misses across eight fixtures. The highlight? Kairat Almaty’s 1-0 victory over Omonia Nicosia, where the model hit every note perfectly — outcome, exact score, BTTS, over/under, and halftime correctness. We’ll take that one with a cheeky grin.
FK Crvena Zvezda also earned a tick with their commanding 5-0 win against Larne. The model got the outcome right and correctly called both teams to score (even if Larne kept it to zero), plus nailed the over/under but missed the exact score and halftime prediction. Similarly, Hapoel Beer Sheva’s 2-0 win over Vikingur Reykjavik brought another tick: outcome and halftime calls were spot on despite missing on BTTS and over/under.
On the flip side, some surprises caught the model off guard. Lech Poznan’s heavy 0-3 defeat to Aarhus was a miss despite correctly predicting both teams would find the net. The model showed strength in calling outcomes and BTTS in certain matches but struggled with exact scores and halftime predictions more often than not. Still, that star performance from Kairat Almaty reminds us there’s method in this madness.
