Fipster’s mixed bag in Süper Lig: a couple of tidy calls and a pair of surprises
Four fixtures, four different stories for the Fipster model. It nailed the outcome in Amed’s narrow win over Beşiktaş and spotted Fenerbahçe’s dominant victory, but missed the mark on Erzurumspor FK’s and Göztepe’s matches. Confidence was high, results varied.
Today’s Süper Lig action gave the Fipster model a fair bit to chew on. The standout result? Amed pulling off a 3-2 win against Beşiktaş, where the model correctly predicted the home side would take the points, even if it underestimated the away goals tally. It called the outcome right and got the over-under spot on, though it missed out on both BTTS and halftime predictions — not bad for an "appropriate" confidence rating.
Fenerbahçe’s emphatic 8-0 thrashing of Eyüpspor also earned a tick from the model. While it didn’t foresee quite such a goal glut or get BTTS right (unsurprisingly), it did predict a home win with over-under accuracy. Halftime prediction again proved elusive, but overall this was another solid call with appropriate confidence.
On the flip side, Erzurumspor FK’s 1-0 victory over Samsunspor caught Fipster off guard. The model confidently tipped an away win but ended up missing every key prediction dimension except BTTS and over-under — which were correct by happy accident rather than design.
Göztepe versus Rizespor was another tough one for our trusty predictor. It forecasted a 0-2 away win but instead got a 2-2 draw with no correct prediction flags at all — an overconfident call that didn’t quite pay off.
So what’s the verdict? Two ticks and two misses out of four fixtures isn’t too shabby for a day that threw some curveballs at our model. Outcome predictions were hit or miss, exact scores remained elusive as ever, and halftime calls stayed stubbornly tricky across the board. Still, we’ll take those wins where we can get them — especially when they come with appropriate confidence levels.
