Mixed fortunes in Süper Lig as model nails outcomes but stumbles on scores
Four Süper Lig fixtures delivered a rollercoaster for the Fipster model, with two solid outcome calls and two misses. While exact scores and BTTS predictions proved tricky, the model showed some restraint on confidence — mostly.
The day kicked off with Çorum FK comfortably beating Eyüpspor 3-0. The model got the outcome right and even predicted an over scoreline, though it underestimated the margin and missed the BTTS call. Not bad for an underconfident forecast — sometimes it's good to be cautious.
Kocaelispor’s narrow 1-0 win over Samsunspor also earned a tick. Outcome and halftime predictions were spot on, but the exact score and BTTS calls slipped away again. The model was underconfident here too, proving that low expectations can still deliver decent results.
On the flip side, Kasımpaşa’s 2-2 draw with Amed caught the model out completely. It confidently predicted a home win with fewer goals, missing every key metric except halftime correctness. Overconfidence doesn’t always pay dividends.
Then there was Trabzonspor’s 5-0 thrashing of Gençlerbirliği S.K., which was a shocker for the model. It expected an away win and got none of the outcome or exact score right, though it did correctly predict an over scoreline. Appropriate confidence level, but poor call overall.
Overall, a day of contrasts: two tidy ticks showing the model can read outcomes well when it wants to, balanced by two misses reminding us that football loves to keep us humble. Exact scores and BTTS remain elusive targets, while halftime calls were hit or miss depending on the fixture. Still, we’ll take a couple of correct outcomes from four games as a reasonable haul.
