Pro League predictions take a tumble with two misses and a postponement
The Fipster model faced a tough day in the Pro League, with two fixtures defying its forecasts and one match postponed. No stars or ticks today, but plenty to learn from as Al-Hazm and Al-Fayha both pulled off results against the grain.
Today’s Pro League action was a bit of a reality check for our beloved Fipster model. Two matches went completely against the grain, while one fixture was postponed, leaving us with no wins on the prediction scoreboard.
Al-Hazm versus Al-Fateh ended 2-3, despite the model tipping a 1-0 home win. Not only did it miss the outcome, but every other prediction dimension—exact score, BTTS, over/under, and halftime—also failed to land. Confidence was appropriate, so no complaints there; just chalk it up to an unpredictable day.
Meanwhile, Al Khaleej Saihat surprised by beating Al-Fayha 2-0 when the model had forecast an away win by one goal. Outcome and exact score predictions were off, as was halftime accuracy. However, it did get BTTS and over/under right—silver linings in an otherwise gloomy forecast.
The postponed clash between Al-Ahli Jeddah and Al-Nassr means we’ll have to wait for that data to see if Fipster can redeem itself there.
All told, no STARs or TICKs today—just two MISSes reminding us that football loves to keep us humble. The model’s confidence rating remained appropriate throughout, so at least it wasn’t wildly overconfident about these tricky calls.
We’ll take this as a learning day for Fipster. After all, even the best models have off days—and ours is no exception.
