Estoril and Arouca play out a goalless draw, leaving Fipster a bit offside
Fipster predicted an away win for Arouca but the teams settled for a 0-0 stalemate. While the model nailed both the BTTS and over/under calls, it missed on the match outcome and halftime prediction, resulting in a solitary miss for the day.
Today’s Primeira Liga fixture between Estoril and Arouca ended in a 0-0 draw, much to the chagrin of our trusty Fipster model which had tipped an away win for Arouca. So close, yet so far — the outcome prediction was off, as was the halftime call. Still, credit where it’s due: Fipster got both the BTTS (both teams to score) and over/under predictions right. No goals meant no goals, after all.
The confidence rating was marked as appropriate, so no complaints there — sometimes football just refuses to follow the script. The exact scoreline prediction also missed the mark, but with a nil-nil result, that’s hardly surprising. It’s one of those days when the model’s crystal ball fogged up a bit.
All told, this single fixture left us with one miss on the board and no stars or ticks to celebrate. We’ll take that one on the chin and look forward to better luck next time around.
