Estoril and Famalicao share the spoils, leaving Fipster a bit offside
The lone Primeira Liga fixture on August 7th saw Estoril and Famalicao draw 1-1, but our trusty Fipster model missed the mark on most fronts, nailing only the both-teams-to-score call.
Today’s single fixture in the Primeira Liga gave us a modest 1-1 draw between Estoril and Famalicao. Our beloved Fipster model, ever hopeful but not infallible, predicted a 2-1 win for Estoril. So, outcome and exact score? Both out of reach this time around.
On the bright side, it did correctly foresee that both teams would find the net — so at least it got that right. The over-under call didn’t quite follow through, nor did the halftime prediction. Confidence was appropriate though; no bravado here, just a cautious guess that didn’t quite pay off.
So while today’s prediction was more miss than hit, we’ll take the small victories where we can find them. After all, even the best models have their off days — and this one was definitely feeling a bit offside.
