Dundee derby delivers a shock, and the model fluffs the lines
Only one Premiership fixture played today as Dundee United hosted Dundee, with the visitors running out 2-0 winners. The Fipster model's prediction missed the mark entirely, making for a tough day at the office.
Today's sole Premiership match saw Dundee United take on Dundee in what turned out to be a bit of a surprise. The model confidently tipped a 2-1 win for Dundee United, but instead it was Dundee who bagged two goals without reply. Not quite the outcome we were hoping for.
The prediction missed on every front: outcome, exact score, both teams to score, over/under goals, and even halftime correctness. It was a clean sweep of misses — not exactly something to brag about. On the bright side, the confidence rating was "appropriate," so at least it wasn’t wildly overconfident.
Other fixtures scheduled for today involving Rangers and St Johnstone were postponed, so no chance for redemption there. With just this one game to judge from, the model’s record stands at zero stars and ticks, and one miss.
All in all, it’s been a rough day for our trusty predictor — but hey, even the best get caught out by a local derby upset now and then. Day grade: D-.
