Liverpool vs Arsenal: Model's lone prediction takes a rain check
The Fipster model fancied a draw at Anfield but Arsenal had other ideas, sneaking a 1-0 win. The model got the over-under right but missed the outcome and all other calls, leaving us with a day to forget.
Today’s Premier League offering was a solitary fixture between Liverpool and Arsenal that didn’t quite go the way our beloved Fipster model hoped. It predicted a 1-1 draw, which would have been neat and tidy, but instead Arsenal edged it 1-0. So much for neat and tidy.
Breaking down the accuracy, the model missed the outcome and exact scoreline, as well as both teams scoring and halftime correctness. On the bright side, it did get the over-under call right — so at least it knew there wouldn’t be a goal-fest. We’ll take that sliver of success with a wink.
Confidence was marked as appropriate, which is fair enough given how things panned out. Sometimes even the best models have off days — or in this case, an off day.
