A Mixed Bag in the Premier League: Model Nails Outcomes but Trips on Scores
Four Premier League fixtures gave our Fipster model plenty to chew on today, with two solid outcome calls and a couple of misses that remind us even algorithms have off days. Goals flew in, surprises popped up, and the model's confidence was tested — sometimes a bit too much.

On the other side of things, Fulham and Manchester United drew 1-1 against expectations of a Fulham win. Here, our model was overconfident and missed both outcome and exact score predictions, though it did correctly foresee both teams scoring — so not all was lost.
Similarly, Leeds versus Crystal Palace ended goalless despite predictions favouring a Leeds win with multiple goals. This one also saw overconfidence from the model and missed marks across all accuracy dimensions — proof that sometimes football just refuses to play ball with forecasts.
Overall, two TICKs for correct outcomes show the model had its day in parts, especially on match results rather than exact scores or halftime calls.
