Ligue 1 predictions take a tumble with three misses on the trot
All three Ligue 1 fixtures on September 5th saw the Fipster model miss the mark on outcomes, though it did manage to call BTTS and over/under correctly in most cases. Confidence was high but results were low, making for a tough day at the prediction office.

All three matches ended with the model missing the outcome prediction, which is never what you want to see when you’re trying to look clever. Still, it wasn’t all doom and gloom — the model nailed both teams to score in every game, showing some consistency there.
Le Havre versus Stade Brestois 29 finished 1-2, despite the model tipping a 2-1 win for Le Havre. The exact score and outcome were off, but at least it got both teams scoring and the over/under right. Halftime prediction? Nope.
Lens hosting Lorient saw another upset with a 0-1 result against a predicted 2-0 home win. The model was overconfident here, missing outcome and halftime calls but again correctly predicting both teams would find the net (even if Lens didn’t). Over/under was spot on though.
Finally, Nice drew 1-1 with Le Mans, while the model fancied an away win by two goals. No luck on outcome or exact score again; BTTS was correct but over/under missed out this time. Halftime guess? Also no.
So that’s three misses from three attempts today — not our finest hour. Confidence ratings ranged from appropriate to overconfident, proving that even when we think we know best, football has other ideas. We’ll take those BTTS calls as small victories and hope for better days ahead.
