Getafe and Rayo Vallecano share spoils as Fipster’s confidence takes a hit
The model fancied a Getafe win but ended up on the wrong side of a 1-1 draw. While it nailed the over-under call, outcome and exact score predictions were off, earning a day grade of D-.
Today’s lone La Liga fixture between Getafe and Rayo Vallecano ended in a 1-1 draw, much to the chagrin of our trusty Fipster model. It confidently predicted a 2-0 home win for Getafe but was left nursing its pride after the actual outcome defied expectations.
Breaking down the prediction accuracy, the model missed the mark on both the match outcome and exact score. It also failed to foresee both teams scoring, which they did. However, it did get one thing right: the over-under goal tally call was spot on — so we’ll give it that small consolation prize.
The halftime prediction didn’t fare any better, missing out there too. Interestingly, this miss came despite an "overconfident" rating from Fipster, proving that even models can be a bit too sure of themselves sometimes.
So all told, today’s single fixture resulted in a model record of 0 STAR · 0 TICK · 1 MISS. Not exactly the day Fipster dreamed of, but hey — nobody bats 1000. We’ll take this as a reminder that football keeps us humble.
