Real Madrid’s big win saves the day for Fipster in a tricky La Liga round
Four La Liga fixtures, one solid call from Fipster as Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano was the lone bright spot amid three misses. The model nailed the outcome and over-under but stumbled on exact scores and halftime predictions elsewhere.
Today’s La Liga action gave our beloved Fipster model a bit of a headache, with just one out of four predictions hitting the mark. The standout was Real Madrid’s 4-1 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano, where Fipster got the outcome right and correctly called the over-under, though it missed on the exact score and halftime guess. A tidy result to cling to.
The other three fixtures were less kind. Athletic Club versus Elche ended 1-1, but Fipster had confidently predicted a 4-1 home win — a classic case of overconfidence. At least it spotted both teams would score, so not all was lost.
Osasuna’s 0-2 defeat at home to Espanyol also caught the model off guard. It expected a narrow home win but did correctly predict no goals at halftime and that both teams would find the net eventually — well, Espanyol did anyway.
Racing Santander’s 2-1 victory over Alaves was another miss for Fipster, which had forecast a higher scoring affair with Alaves edging it 3-2. The model got both teams scoring right again and nailed the over-under but couldn’t quite pin down the winner or exact tally.
Overall, today’s batch was a tough nut for our predictive pal to crack: zero STAR ratings, one TICK for Real Madrid’s match, and three MISS grades elsewhere. The model showed strength in spotting both teams scoring and total goals trends but struggled with outcomes and halftime calls. Still, we’ll take that one tick as proof there’s some method in this madness.
