Deportivo La Coruna and Elche share spoils, Fipster left wanting
A solitary La Liga fixture on August 17th saw Deportivo La Coruna and Elche draw 1-1, but the Fipster model’s prediction missed the mark entirely, calling for a home win that never materialised.
Only one game to dissect today in La Liga, and it was a bit of a cheeky one for the Fipster model. Deportivo La Coruna and Elche ended up sharing the points with a 1-1 draw, but our model had confidently tipped Deportivo to come out on top with a 2-1 scoreline. Confidence was high, but accuracy was low — outcome, exact score, halftime prediction, and over-under calls all missed their marks.
On the bright side, the model did get one thing right: both teams found the net. So at least it wasn’t completely off the pace. But when you’re overconfident and miss most of your bets, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve been left holding an empty pint glass.
