Czech Liga’s Fipster model keeps it interesting with a mixed bag on matchday 11
Five fixtures, one postponed, and a couple of surprises saw the Fipster model notch two TICKs and endure two MISSes. The model called the outcomes right in Pardubice and Mlada Boleslav wins but stumbled on Sigma Olomouc and Slavia Praha results. Confidence was high at times, but the pitch had other ideas.
Today’s Czech Liga action served up a proper rollercoaster for the Fipster prediction model. It nailed the outcome in Pardubice’s 3-0 win over Zlin, though it overshot on the exact score and wrongly expected both teams to find the net. Still, it got the over-under call right — we’ll take that one.
Mlada Boleslav’s narrow 1-0 victory against Teplice also earned a TICK. The model correctly predicted the outcome and halftime result, plus it was spot-on about both teams scoring — which they didn’t, so that’s a cheeky miss — but missed the over-under mark. Confidence was appropriate here, so no complaints.
On the flip side, Sigma Olomouc’s 1-0 win over Slovan Liberec caught the model out completely. It expected a Liberec win with goals from both sides, but instead got shut out. All prediction dimensions missed their marks despite an appropriate confidence rating — sometimes football just laughs at your algorithms.
Slavia Praha versus Hradec Králové was another tough one for Fipster. The model confidently forecasted a Slavia thrashing with goals galore, but instead it ended goalless and pointless for both sides. Overconfidence can be a dangerous thing — lesson learned.
One fixture was postponed (Artis vs Bohemians 1905), so no predictions there to spoil or shine.
Overall, two TICKs and two MISSes make for a day of highs and lows in this Czech Liga round. The model showed it can pick winners but struggles with exact scores and BTTS calls when matches defy expectations. Confidence ratings varied from underconfident to overconfident, proving even AI can have an off day.
