Mixed fortunes in Czech Liga as Fipster nails two but stumbles twice
Four fixtures, four different stories for the model: two solid calls, two way off the mark. Bohemians 1905 and Plzen saw their outcomes predicted correctly, while Zbrojovka Brno and Hradec Králové results caught the model napping. Confidence was high where it counted, but exact scores remained elusive.
Today’s Czech Liga action served up a mixed bag for the Fipster prediction model. The standout moment? Bohemians 1905 edging out Baník Ostrava 1-0, a result the model called with aplomb — outcome, BTTS, over/under, and halftime predictions all lined up nicely. A tidy performance that earns a well-deserved tick.
Plzen’s 3-0 victory over Mlada Boleslav also brought some cheer. While the exact score wasn’t spot on (the model fancied a couple more goals from the visitors), it still nailed the outcome and over/under correctly. The BTTS call missed by a mile here — no goals for Mlada Boleslav today — but overall another tick in the box.
On the flip side, Zbrojovka Brno’s surprise 0-1 loss to FK Jablonec was a tough nut to crack. The model confidently predicted a home win with three goals to nil, only to be proven spectacularly wrong across outcome, exact score, halftime prediction, and over/under. Overconfidence clearly got the better of it here.
Similarly, Hradec Králové’s 2-4 defeat by Artis caught the model off guard despite an appropriate confidence rating. Outcome and exact score predictions missed their mark, though it did get BTTS and over/under right — so not all bad news.
All told, today’s four fixtures yielded zero stars but two ticks and two misses for Fipster’s efforts. The model showed it can pick winners and read goal volumes well enough but still struggles with exact scores and occasionally lets confidence run ahead of reality.
We’ll take those two ticks as proof that even when not perfect, Fipster has its day — just don’t ask it to be flawless yet. Day grade: B+.
