Model shines with Jordan-Algeria but stumbles on England and Norway
Five World Cup group stage matches brought a mixed bag for the Fipster model, nailing the exact score in Jordan vs Algeria and calling outcomes right in Panama and Portugal wins. However, it missed the mark on England's goalless draw with Ghana and Norway's narrow victory over Senegal. Confidence was high but results were varied, making for an entertaining day of predictions.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Jordan versus Algeria clash, where the model hit a STAR grade by correctly predicting not only the outcome but also the exact 2-1 scoreline. It even got both teams to score and the over-under call right, proving that sometimes it really does have its day.
Portugal’s 5-0 thrashing of Uzbekistan earned a solid TICK from the model, which nailed the outcome and BTTS prediction but fell short on exact score and over-under calls. Similarly, Panama’s narrow 1-0 win over Croatia saw a TICK grade with correct outcome and BTTS flags, though exact score eluded our trusty predictor.
On the flip side, England’s goalless draw with Ghana was a bit of a blind spot. The model confidently predicted an England win with goals on both sides but ended up with a MISS grade after missing outcome, BTTS, over-under, and exact score — talk about an overconfident misfire.
