Serie A’s Fipster model keeps it tidy with three TICKs on the trot
Three Serie A fixtures, three TICK grades: the model didn’t nail any exact scores but got the outcomes spot on, showing a knack for picking winners even if the goalscoring details proved elusive.
Today’s Serie A action saw the Fipster model deliver a clean sweep of TICKs across all three fixtures. No STARs to brag about, but consistent enough to keep us quietly chuffed.
Como’s 2-1 victory over Parma was predicted correctly in terms of outcome and total goals going over the line, though the model overshot on Como’s tally and missed that both teams would find the net.
Inter’s 5-3 win against Udinese was another case where the model got the winner right and even called both teams to score plus an over-under result accurately. Exact score? Not quite, but we’ll take it.
Torino’s 0-2 loss to AS Roma was predicted with outcome and BTTS correctness, although the model underestimated Roma’s goal haul and missed the over-under call. Interestingly, this one came with an underconfident rating, so maybe it knew it was playing it safe.
Halftime predictions didn’t fare so well today — none landed — but overall, getting all three match outcomes right is nothing to sniff at. The model clearly prefers calling winners over nailing exact scores or halftime leads.
So, no perfect scores but a solid day of results for our trusty Fipster. We’ll take that one and look forward to more fine-tuning ahead.
