Chicago Fire Blaze Past Predictions in Vancouver
The Fipster model had a bit of a smoky day as it confidently tipped a Vancouver win, but Chicago turned up the heat with a 3-1 victory. While the exact score and outcome were off, the model did get some calls right on both teams scoring and the match going over two goals.
Today’s Major League Soccer fixture saw Chicago Fire put on a fiery display against Vancouver Whitecaps, winning 3-1 despite the model’s prediction favouring an away win. The Fipster model was overconfident in its call, expecting Vancouver to edge it 2-1, but instead, Chicago lit up the scoreboard.
While the outcome and exact score predictions missed the mark, credit where it’s due: the model correctly predicted that both teams would find the net and that the game would have more than two goals. So at least we got some of the basics right — not bad for a day when confidence didn’t quite pay off.
Halftime predictions also didn’t land this time around, which means no early bragging rights for our trusty algorithm. Still, it’s all part of the game — sometimes you’re on fire, sometimes you’re just smoke and mirrors.
With today’s sole fixture resulting in a miss, our model record stands at 0 STAR · 0 TICK · 1 MISS. We’ll take that one on the chin and aim to turn up the heat next time out.
