A goalless draw leaves the model a bit out in the cold
Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo served up a 0-0 stalemate that left our prediction model on the sidelines, missing the mark on outcome, exact score, BTTS, and over/under calls. At least it got halftime right — small mercies.
Today's lone La Liga fixture between Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo ended in a goalless draw, which proved a tough nut for our trusty Fipster model to crack. Despite an "appropriate" confidence rating, the model predicted a 2-1 win for Sociedad — so it was wide of the mark on outcome, exact score, both teams to score, and over/under goals.
On the bright side, the model did nail its halftime call correctly. So it wasn’t all doom and gloom; at least it had a decent read on how things looked at the break. We’ll take that one as a consolation prize.
All told, this was a day where our predictions didn’t quite match reality. But hey, even the best models have off days — especially when faced with stubborn defences and no goals to cheer.
