Valencia vs Real Betis: When the model called it wrong but still got a couple of things right
The lone La Liga fixture on August 25th saw Real Betis edge out Valencia 1-0, a result that left our prediction model with a rare day off the mark. Despite missing the outcome and exact score, it did nail both the BTTS and over/under calls — so not a total disaster.
Today's single La Liga fixture between Valencia and Real Betis ended 0-1, a narrow win for Betis that our prediction model unfortunately failed to foresee correctly. The model had predicted a home victory with Valencia scoring once and Betis none, so it missed both the match outcome and the exact scoreline.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. The model did get two important aspects right: both teams did not manage to find the net (BTTS correct), and the total goals stayed under the predicted threshold (over/under correct). So while it fluffed the main call, it showed some decent insight into how tight this game would be.
The halftime prediction was off as well, which means our model didn’t have much luck reading the game at any stage today. Still, its confidence rating was appropriate — no overconfidence here, just an honest misfire.
So overall, one fixture, one miss on outcome and scoreline, but two solid calls in other categories. We’ll take those small wins where we can get them.
