Cambuur 0-4 Excelsior: Model’s prediction takes a heavy knock
The Fipster model fancied Cambuur to edge this one, but Excelsior had other ideas with a convincing 4-0 win. The model nailed the over-under call but missed the mark on everything else, including the halftime outcome and exact score.
Today’s Eredivisie fixture saw Cambuur hosting Excelsior, with the model tipping a 2-1 win for the home side. Instead, Excelsior ran riot with a 4-0 victory, leaving the prediction looking a bit lost in translation.
The model’s confidence rating was appropriate, so no complaints there. It did get one thing right: calling the match to go over the goal line threshold. That’s something to hold onto amid the carnage.
However, it missed on predicting who would come out on top (outcome), the exact scoreline, whether both teams would score (BTTS), and even halftime correctness. A comprehensive miss across most fronts.
So, while we’ll take the over-under call as a small consolation prize, this one was firmly in the ‘better luck next time’ column for our trusty Fipster model.
