Two Czech Liga matches, two surprises: Fipster’s crystal ball foggy today
Fipster predicted a couple of away wins but ended up with draws and home wins instead. The model nailed halftime and over/under calls but fluffed the full-time outcomes, leaving us with a perfect storm of misses across the board.
Today’s Czech Liga fixtures served up a bit of a reality check for our beloved Fipster model. Both matches ended in results the model didn’t see coming, turning what could have been a confident day into a lesson in humility.
First up, Bohemians 1905 and FK Jablonec shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw. Fipster had tipped Jablonec to stroll away with a 2-0 win, so that was a miss on outcome and exact score. However, it did get the halftime result right and correctly called the match would stay under the goal threshold — so not all doom and gloom. The model’s confidence was perhaps a tad overenthusiastic here.
Then Zbrojovka Brno edged Hradec Králové 1-0, another result opposite to Fipster’s prediction of an away win by one goal. Again, outcome and exact score were off target, but at least both teams scoring wasn’t expected (and didn’t happen), plus halftime and over/under calls hit their marks. This time the confidence rating was appropriate — we’ll take that one.
So, two fixtures, two misses on final outcomes and exact scores. On the bright side, halftime predictions and over/under calls were consistently solid across both games. It seems Fipster knows when to hold ’em but struggles to fold ’em fully when it comes to final results today.
