West Ham's goal spree leaves Fipster eating humble pie
Fipster predicted a Wrexham win but West Ham had other ideas, smashing in six without reply. The model nailed the over-under call but fluffed the rest, including outcome and BTTS. A tough day for predictions in the Championship.
Today’s Championship fixture was a bit of a shocker for the Fipster model, which confidently tipped Wrexham to take the win. Instead, West Ham turned on the style with a six-goal blitz, leaving the prediction looking rather out of touch.
The model did get one thing right: it correctly forecast that the match would see more than two and a half goals. So at least it knew there’d be plenty of action, even if it completely misjudged who’d be doing the scoring.
Unfortunately, the outcome prediction was off the mark, as was the exact scoreline and whether both teams would find the net. Even halftime predictions didn’t come through this time around.
Confidence levels were appropriate, so no complaints there — sometimes football just has other plans. We’ll take this one on the chin and hope for better luck next time.
