Birmingham and Wolves share the spoils but Fipster’s crystal ball fogged
A 2-2 draw between Birmingham and Wolves saw the model miss the mark on outcome and exact score, though it did call both teams to find the net and the over-under correctly. Confidence was high, but accuracy took a holiday.
Today’s Championship offering was a solitary fixture that kept us on our toes: Birmingham versus Wolves ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Unfortunately, our trusty Fipster model didn’t quite nail this one, earning a “MISS” grade for its prediction efforts.
The model confidently forecasted a Wolves win by 3-2, but reality had other plans with an even split of goals. While it missed both the exact score and the match outcome, it did get some things right — correctly predicting that both teams would score (BTTS) and that the total goals would be over the line.
Halftime predictions also didn’t land, so no points there. The model’s confidence rating was “overconfident,” which feels about right given today’s result — sometimes even the clearest crystal ball gets a smudge or two.
So, one fixture, one miss — but credit where it’s due: at least we knew to expect goals from both sides and an entertaining game overall. We’ll take those small wins with a wink and keep our fingers crossed for better luck next time.
