Cardiff and Wrexham share the spoils, but Fipster’s prediction misses the mark
The lone Championship fixture on August 17th ended in a 1-1 draw between Cardiff and Wrexham. Our trusty model called for a Cardiff win, but it was not to be — though it did correctly foresee both teams finding the net.
Today’s Championship action boiled down to a single fixture: Cardiff versus Wrexham, finishing 1-1. The Fipster model fancied Cardiff to edge it 2-1, so this result was a bit of a curveball. Outcome and exact score predictions didn’t land, but at least the model nailed that both sides would score — so we’ll take that as a small victory.
Halftime calls were off too, and the over-under guess missed the target. Confidence rating was ’appropriate’, which sounds like polite code for ’not quite right today’. Still, predicting football is never an exact science — if it were, we’d all be millionaires by now.
So, one fixture, one miss. No stars or ticks to celebrate this time around. But hey, at least we got the goalscorers’ party right — both teams found the net as predicted. We’ll call that progress.
