Allsvenskan’s Fipster model finds the day a tough nut to crack on July 6th
Two fixtures, two misses. The Fipster model called both games with appropriate confidence but couldn’t quite nail the outcomes or exact scores. At least it got both matches right for both teams scoring — small mercies in an otherwise off day.
Today’s Allsvenskan action proved a bit of a headache for our trusty Fipster prediction model. Neither fixture ended up as forecast, leaving the model with a clean slate of misses across the board. It predicted IF Brommapojkarna would edge Gais 1-2, but instead they shared the spoils at 1-1. While it did correctly foresee that both teams would find the net, it missed out on calling the halftime state and overall outcome.
Similarly, BK Hacken versus Djurgardens IF was tipped for a 2-2 draw, but Djurgardens ran out 4-2 winners. Again, the model was spot on about both teams scoring and the match going over the goal line, so not all was lost. However, outcome and halftime predictions were off target once more.
Confidence ratings remained appropriate throughout, so no complaints there — just a reminder that football keeps us humble. With zero stars or ticks today, it’s back to the drawing board for Fipster in this round of Allsvenskan.
